Yes, it's indeed a license renewal from the MTO (Ministry of Transport of Ontario). And yes, they use such ridiculous names that make you worry it might not be legit. But it is, we just received our renewal by mail.
mto web site did not work properly, i applied twice because it was saying time expired, on my pending transactions looks like i will be charged twice for renewal sticker, how can i cancel one transaction?
I have same problem they charged me without any authorization, Also Vasile would you able to cancel the transaction?

I tried to renew my licence sticker by visa 4 times each time the mesage was that my Payment was rejected. The next day I tried again and it went thru. How is it I was charged $240.00 five times on my visa. I hope it clears up itself very soon. Why did I keep getting the message , not accepted. I kept trying thinking I made an error doing the input. Seems like it wouldnt be a big effort on their part to explain.tThgNV

Ok people, take a chill pill...this is legit. You went online and renewed your little plate sticker and were charged $120 (as of 2019) for it so you can drive on plowed roads and have safely patrolled streets. Please get checked for memory problems if you can't remember. Peace out my fellow GTA'ers, drive safe and buckle up buckeroo! Yeehaw!!
MTO online payment website is obvious flawed. A couple of years ago after using their website my credit card became compromised and I needed to replace my card. Today I tried to renew my "stickers" and once again I ran into problems, i.e. payment was decline so I tried again and again it was declined, tried a third time and the payment was declined. HOWEVER, when I checked my credit account online it showed all three (3) charges a pending. MTO needs to get its act in order in regards to their online driver services.

lol glad I checked this. The website said there was a "technical error" and I thought the payment didn't go through. Good thing I checked my credit card account online and saw this charge. The City of Toronto really fucks everything up, doesn't it?

I paid $24 for me and my wife's three year abstract.they took my money from my credit card(rejected my debit card).unfortunately it's been 20+ hrs,though i provide them my email they didnt send it so far.i even checked my spam so far nothing!very very sad.
I would really like to know where my license sticker is. It has been over two weeks since it was charged. You have two choices: you can express ship my sticker or you can refund my money. YOUR CHOICE Expecting to here from someone ASAP.

I got charged $12 in April 2020 in my credit card and $302 in July 2020. What is this??? If it's a charge for license or sticker renewal, my sticker doesn’t come up till October and my license not till 2021. I DID NOT authorize any payments or was ever on MTO website since a year ago. This is ridiculous!!!

This is a government (Ministry of Transportation) charge for your driver's license renewal. I thought at first it might be a scan also then quickly clued in on what it was. They aren't even renewing plate stickers yet and tell you to just use the one you are using.

The name MTO RUS- SO ECHANNEL is really ridiculous and inappropriate for the official gov institution. I thought that some Russian hackers compromised my credit card. lol :) But it is really the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario.
Same thing here. Error message on first attempt so did it again. Charged twice. Trying to get reimbursed now is like pulling teeth. Absolutely ridiculous. At the end of my conversation with the CSR he's like well maybe you should contact your member of parliament.
Didn't recognize this charge initially, thought it might be a Channel charge, like the perfume, which is not my speed at all. In thinking about it I came to the conclusion that I paid for a Drivers Abstract online, and seeing this listed on scamcharge.com as a Ministry of Transportation joint connected the dots. maybe it's Ministry Transportation Ontraio (MTO), and ECHANNEL might just be Electronic Channel? to differentiate payment types? totally a bonkers name, looks very sus.

This is NOT legit. I only use a particular credit card to renew my sticker every May. I got charged on another credit card in August, A credit card i never use either. Just coz the name states MTO does not mean its the actual MTO that is charging ur card. I filed a dispute with my CC company. better to be safe than sorry.
"MTO RUS- SO ECHANNEL DOWNSVIEW ON" appeared on my credit card. It was the renewal fee for an Ontario Id card. I renewed on line through Services Ontario. It is legit.
This was a legitimate charge by the MTO. I now live in NB but needed a driver's abstract for insurance. This $12.00 charge is standard.
I got a charge from this vendor and found out it was a car seller package from Service ON. It was legitimate

they charged me 10.50 $ I do not drive and i have not driver licanse. why they charge me . if i have not this plan. this government is scam . when they need money puting hand in people pockets
I would have been really nice if a letter arrived in the mail saying they were adding a charge to my credit card. I am retired and have to budget so every expense has to be planned for on an already very tight budget. Not all of us have the spending account our present Prime Minister has, some of us actually are at poverty level and below.
I also paid $12 for a three-year abstract a week ago with my credit card, but I have still not gotten it (neither by mail nor email). I previously requested an abstract on the Ontario website and received it by email right away. Can I dispute the payment, or do I need to wait?
