Scammers, received unsolicited £5 premium rate message from New Level Ventures for an entry to win a Range Rover. Using 65013 in the UK, a premium rate shortcode service handled by Mgage.

Same happened to me £8.33 charge, I rang EE and informed them about it, theyve put a block on all premium numbers charging for texts/calls to my phone. But apparently it'll only work on non subscription services. You can find the info for the company on the phonepayplus website but the numbers just lead you in circles

I received the following text messages from 65011: “thank you for you entry to win a Range Rover. PROMO: Click to enter for free http:/bit/ly29xXDhp support@canibethewinner.co.uk or 02078662135” If you receive this message and did not enter a competetion, please visit http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/ to complain about it. Cost me £10 per text and I received two of them. I am fortunate to have a fairly high income and for me this is about the principal and not the money. I complained to EE who were useless and claim they are simply collecting money on their behalf and cant get involved, a response that is quite simply unacceptable. I said to EE that if you are collecting the money, you have a responsibility to explain what it is for and provide some evidence. If “canibethewinner.co.uk” got in touch asking for payment I would invite them to take me to court and prove why. Unfortunately, you can not refuse to pay EE for this or it will negatively impact your credit file! EE said I have to deal with the third party myself and said all they can do is text me a phone number and email for this company. Surprise, surprise canibethewinner.co.uk they do not answer the phone. I tried four times yesterday and left messages. I then emailed explaining I had contacted trading standards about this and they responded to say they can confirm my number was removed. Today a very polite lady phoned me back and without any quibble promised a refund. I was a little shocked as surely if EE take the money from my account they must have done so lawfully and I must have entered a completion and simply forgotten! Why would you refund so easily? Frustratingly whilst EE and canibethewinner are working together and take momney by direct debit, to get my refund I have to go to a postoffice with a code which is incredibly inconvenient. Despite two attempts, EE are not able to work out who they pay this money to! When I asked the lady who returned my call who owns canibethewinner.co.uk she said New Level Ventures Christiana Chatzidou 9 Karpensiou 2021 Nicosa. Christiana does not google well. Whilst I could take up a case against New Level Ventures, it will only shut down and reopen under a new name next week. My real concern is with EE essentially operating as a bank and taking payments for firms without knowing or caring who these firms are. These crooks can only get away with succeeding because of firms like EE collecting them money! I looked on phonepayplus which said the following about this number: Check a Number - Result PhonepayPlus has the following information about shortcode number: 65011 Customer care number: 0208 243 8562 Customer care email: support@canibethewinner.com Customer care website: http://canibethewinner.com Search result provided by: New Level Ventures Ltd Service connected on: 23 August 2016 Service terminated on: This service is still operating Name of service: Can I Be The Winner Type of service: New Level Ventures Ltd has not provided this information Service description: New Level Ventures Ltd has not provided this information How much does this service cost? New Level Ventures Ltd has not provided this information If you would like to find out more about this service or have a question about it, then you should contact the service provider: New Level Ventures Ltd 9 Karpensiou Nicosia 2021 Anyway the outcome of all of this so far is that I have decided to give up work and set up as a crook with a foreign base and get EE to collect money on my behalf as they clearly don’t care who they collect money for.

A total scam: If you are affected phone 0300 30 300 20* (Monday - Friday, 10am - 4pm, excluding bank holidays) and register that you have been Scammed. This is phoneplayplus.org.uk who are the regulators for mobile short code's. They are the organisation that checks that people who take up short codes are abiding by the rules and regulations. Without the short call to register your complaint about 65011 and that you have been scammed out of £10.00 (£8.33 + VAT) They will continue to abuse the system by obtaining mobile numbers and entering them in so they can scam people for £10.00 a time. Yes I was scammed, I have a PAYE mobile which I keep £10.00-£20.00 on for emergencies. I had an emergency, and low and behold the balance was only 03p On investigation I had been deducted £10.00 because I entered the number in a web site 'canibethewinner' Like **** did I. After phone calls to T Mobile, I had to phone New Level Ventures....Oh Guess what! no one to take the call leave a message!.....Three times now, I have spoken to someone about obtaining a refund, promises of the text coming to take to the Post Office....Nothing arrived. I doubt if anything ever will. Hence my call to phonepayplus to register this scamming company. Please do the same, it doesnt take long.
