Citi alerted me to a fraudulent $102.60 charge to my credit card from this company on February 2, 2020, at appx. noon ET. I live in Utah. This is an emergency-only card and has never been used, so I don't know how "Applebees 8925" got the info unless the breach is within my own internet. I'm not convinced it is an actual Applebee's restaurant - likely a spoof of the name to cover a scam biz. *To the question of "how can someone spend ... without a card" - the answer is: online purchase.
Same thing just happened to me. I got a fraud alert from chase just now, 3-6-21. I’m glad chase is on the ball. We haven’t been anywhere in a year, so this had to be some online purchase attempt.
