Turns out this charge is legit... In my particular experience it was for a software program I purchased to use for a year called wondershare... Avangate is the company used to bill/collect the money from people who make purchases over the internet and can be for all sorts of software/products. Just ask your financial institution for the phone number of the place billing you and call them like I did to find out where the charge originated from and they will give you all the details... I was however unaware that I was on an automatic renewal plan with Wondershare and should have researched the details a little deeper at the time of my purchase. I also haven't used the email that I originally used when I made the purchase but 3 - 4 times in the past year or I would have seen where they notified me in advance that they would be applying the renewal charge in the following weeks to come or I would have cancelled it ahead of time. So it is my experience that this company and the charge they put on my credit card are both legitimate and should not be listed as a scam. I have requested a full refund and will update when I get notified of their decision. Hope this helps out someone.
