i tried to purchase a monster drink from the breakroom vending machine at work today. I noticed that the appearance of the card reader had changed and thought nothing of it i thought that maybe for some reason they had to replace the card reader on the machine. i scanned my card and waited for the prompts to guide me to make my selection for drink. When i made my selection for the drink the machine did nothing. The digital display on the reader had originally said that 2.48 was taken for the transaction and then apparently it was time set to reset to 0 to make another selection or press the cancel button.I got home and checked my bank account to see if the transaction had gone through since i did not receive product. The transaction was pending for the amount now i have to wait 3 days to see if it goes through and i can contest this bogus charge. I am hoping that it will not recur since my card information was given to whatever scammer has it now. I attempted to search for a link to the debtor on my account :"CMSVEND*CV SAN A" and what i pulled up was a search engine filled with forums full of stories just like mine. I reported it to the HR rep at my job location and hope that it will follow the proper channels to protect anyone else from the same.
